The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Badagry has officially picked Barrister Medemaku Abayomi Noah, a legal practitioner and native of Ikoga-Zebbe in Ward I of Badagry Local Government, as its consensus candidate for the Badagry Federal Constituency House of Representatives election ahead of the 2027 general polls.
The decision was contained in the party’s result sheet signed by the returning officers, Ojosipe Victoria and Ibiaho Samson, confirming Medemaku as the party’s chosen flagbearer for the highly anticipated contest.
With the development, Medemaku will now lead the PDP into the race to represent Badagry Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in 2027.
His emergence is already stirring political discussions across Badagry, with many party faithful and political observers describing it as a strategic move by the PDP as preparations for the next general election gradually gather momentum.
Barr. Medemaku Abayomi Noah previously contested as the PDP chairmanship candidate in the last Badagry Local Government election held in Lagos State, where he built a strong grassroots presence through his campaign focused on community development and inclusive governance.
He is also currently challenging the eligibility of the incumbent Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, in a case pending before the Lagos State High Court sitting in Badagry.
As a son of Ikoga-Zebbe, Ward I, supporters say his candidacy is expected to strengthen the PDP’s grassroots mobilization efforts across the constituency, especially among young voters and party loyalists seeking a fresh political direction.
With the political atmosphere in Badagry gradually heating up ahead of 2027, Medemaku’s emergence has now positioned him as one of the major names to watch in the coming contest for the federal legislative seat.
