Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died after battling stage four cancer.
His daughter, Kira Hassan, confirmed the tragic news in an emotional Instagram Live session on Sunday, saying, “My daddy is dead. I can’t believe it.”
The actor’s death was also announced by Emiralty Africa, which described Ogogo as a star filmmaker.
The development came just hours after Kira had spoken publicly about her father’s health challenges, revealing the emotional and financial strain the family faced while seeking treatment for him.
She had also expressed concerns over individuals allegedly demanding huge sums of money while claiming to offer assistance with Ogogo’s medical care.
Ogogo, who was widely respected for his contributions to Yoruba-language cinema, leaves behind a legacy spanning several decades in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
His death has since triggered an outpouring of grief among fans, colleagues and admirers of the veteran actor.
