Tension and grief have gripped residents of Ilogbo-Eremi in Badagry area of Lagos State following the gruesome killing of a woman identified as Mrs. Victoria Mubo Adegoke, popularly known as Noibi, who was allegedly attacked and murdered while returning from church in the early hours of Friday.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred around 6:10 a.m. on May 15, 2026, along the Oke Egan area of Ilogbo-Eremi.
According to information made available to Badagry Today by a concerned family member who pleaded for anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case and fear of possible attack, the deceased had attended a service at The Joy of Christ Ministry, also known as Ayo Jesu Church, before she was allegedly ambushed by some unidentified boys on her way home.
The source alleged that the attackers tied Mrs. Victoria’s hands before killing her in a brutal manner.
Her mobile phone was reportedly taken away by the assailants, while her bag, ATM card and Bible were later found at the scene of the incident.
The killing has thrown the family and the entire community into mourning, with residents expressing fear over the growing insecurity in the axis.
In a statement sent to Badagry Today, the anonymous family member called on security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force, to launch a detailed and unbiased investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
The source further revealed that days before the incident, precisely on May 9, 2026, the deceased had reportedly sent a voice note to her daughter who lives abroad, requesting the sum of ₦150,000 to support her pastor, who allegedly claimed that his father needed surgery.
According to the source, the pastor had allegedly requested financial assistance from the deceased on several occasions. However, recent claims reportedly suggested that the pastor’s father was healthy.
The family source also disclosed that Mrs. Victoria had plans to travel abroad to visit her daughter in December, but her visa application was allegedly denied twice.
While no official link has been established between those events and the killing, the family insisted that investigators should thoroughly examine every possible angle surrounding the incident.
“This unfortunate incident has left the family, residents and the entire community in deep shock and fear. We humbly appeal to the authorities to urgently investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that the perpetrators are identified and brought to justice,” the source stated.
The family also appealed for increased security surveillance across Ilogbo-Eremi and other parts of Badagry, alleging that similar incidents had reportedly occurred multiple times within the area in recent years.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities were yet to release an official statement regarding the killing or confirm if any arrest had been made.
