The All Progressives Congress has postponed its House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections by one day, moving the exercise from Friday to Saturday, May 16, 2026.
The announcement was made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in an official statement released by the All Progressives Congress.
According to the statement, all other previously announced dates for the party’s primaries remain unchanged.
With the adjustment, the APC primary election timetable is now as follows:
House of Representatives Primary Election — Saturday, May 16, 2026
Senate Primary Election — Monday, May 18, 2026
State House of Assembly Primary Election — Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Governorship Primary Election — Thursday, May 21, 2026
Presidential Primary Election — Saturday, May 23, 2026
The party, however, did not state reasons for the postponement of the House of Representatives primaries.
The development is expected to affect aspirants and party stakeholders across federal constituencies nationwide, as preparations intensify ahead of the APC’s internal electoral process for the 2027 general elections.
