Speaking at the gathering, the monarchs expressed satisfaction with Whingan’s representation at the National Assembly, noting that he has consistently projected the interests of Badagry and raised important issues affecting the constituency on the floor of the House.

Since his election in June 2023, Whingan has sponsored over 20 bills and motions focusing on Badagry’s development and national issues, a feat many constituents have described as unprecedented in the history of the constituency.

The royal fathers also commended his oversight functions at the National Assembly, particularly his interventions that contributed to the revitalization of the Administration Staff College of Nigeria, ASCON, Topo Badagry, and efforts toward securing an establishment law for the Nigerian French Language Village in Ajara.

Through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, Whingan has facilitated various empowerment programmes for youths and constituents. More than 500 beneficiaries have reportedly received training in agriculture, aquaculture, fashion designing, technology and other vocational skills, alongside startup grants ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦250,000 and equipment support.

Several beneficiaries have also secured employment opportunities in federal and Lagos State government agencies through the initiatives.

In the education sector, the lawmaker has continued to make significant impact through scholarships and infrastructural support. Many youths across Badagry Federal Constituency are currently benefiting from his scholarship scheme, under which he pays full tuition fees annually for students in various tertiary institutions.

Whingan also procured two brand new buses dedicated to conveying students to and from their schools across the constituency, a gesture widely applauded by residents and education stakeholders.

He further facilitated the construction and renovation of several school projects across the constituency, including school buildings at Mowo Community Secondary School, Igbanko Primary School and Javie Community Secondary School, as well as renovation works at St. Leo’s Primary School, Ikoga-Zebbe, and toilet facilities at Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Badagry.

Whingan also established a free National Identification Number registration centre which has helped over 70,000 residents, including WAEC and JAMB candidates, to obtain their NIN free of charge.

The monarchs said his numerous achievements and visible grassroots impact informed their unanimous decision to endorse his reelection bid, assuring him of their continued support.

The royal fathers also congratulated Whingan on his recent appointment as Lagos State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven political organisation supporting the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the appointment as well deserved and a recognition of his commitment to grassroots mobilization and youth development.
