Badagry is set for a major cultural spotlight on Saturday, March 28, 2026, as popular content creator and social media personality, Peller, arrives in the historic town as part of his ongoing nationwide state tour.
The Lagos leg of the tour is scheduled to kick off from Badagry Roundabout at 10am, drawing attention to the town’s rich heritage and tourism potential. The visit is being hosted by fast-rising Badagry music star and convener of the “Badagry to the World Concert,” Scope The Entertainer, who says the initiative is aimed at projecting Badagry onto the global tourism map.
According to the outlined itinerary, the tour will begin at the Badagry Heritage Museum, where Peller and his team will explore historical artefacts that tell the story of the ancient coastal town.
From there, the team will move to the iconic First Storey Building in Nigeria, widely regarded as one of the earliest multi-storey structures in the country and a symbol of early missionary influence in Nigeria.
The tour will also feature a courtesy visit to the Mobee Palace, followed by a stop at the Heritage Slave Museum, where relics of the transatlantic slave trade remain preserved.
Further highlighting the emotional and historical depth of the tour, the team will visit the Baracoon Slave Cell of Seriki Abass, one of the major slave holding facilities during the slave trade era.
Another key stop is the historic Agia Tree Monument, known as the site where Christianity was first preached in Nigeria and where Christmas was first celebrated in the country.
The cultural exploration will continue at the Velekete Slave Market and Museum before rounding off with a royal courtesy visit to the palace of the Akran of Badagry, a revered traditional institution in the area.
Following the Badagry tour, Peller and his team are expected to proceed to Lagos Island to continue the Lagos State leg of the nationwide tour.
The visit is widely anticipated to boost tourism awareness, draw fresh attention to Badagry’s historical significance, and reinforce its status as one of Nigeria’s most important cultural destinations.
