BREAKING: Kumayon Swears In Olorunda LCDA Cabinet, Assigns Portfolios

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, on Monday formally inaugurated the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors and Special Advisers, charging them to embrace selfless service and deliver impactful governance to residents of the council area.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Multi-Purpose Hall within the council secretariat in Iworo, marked a major step in strengthening the administrative structure of the council and setting the stage for the implementation of the administration’s development agenda.

Speaking during the ceremony, Kumayon described the appointments as a call to greater responsibility and dedication to public service. He congratulated the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently for the progress of the council and the welfare of the people.

The chairman noted that the appointments followed due legislative screening and confirmation in accordance with the laws guiding local government administration in Lagos State.

He emphasised that the newly constituted executive team would play a crucial role in driving the council’s RESHAPE Agenda, which focuses on responsive governance, economic empowerment, social welfare, human capital development, accountability, progressive infrastructure and environmental sustainability.

Kumayon also reaffirmed the council’s alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the THEMES+ Agenda of Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, noting that synergy with state and federal policies would accelerate development at the grassroots.

As part of efforts to ensure efficient governance, the chairman through his media, also announced the portfolios of the newly appointed cabinet members as follows:

• Wahab Ashade – Secretary to the Local Government
• Solomon Mobolaji Adele – Vice Chairman and Supervisor for Environment
• Jimoh Nuatin Amosu – Supervisor for Works
• Otegbola Isaac Adediji – Supervisor for Budget and Planning
• Joshua Oke Afolabi – Supervisor for Youth, Sports and Social Services
• Adeosun Wahab – Supervisor for Agriculture and Rural Development
• Alhaja Kuburat Okunade – Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA)
• Bankole Afeez – Supervisor for Education
• Moses Adewale Falola – Supervisor for Tourism, Arts and Creative Economy
• Gandonu Abodo John – Supervisor for Health
• Fagbamila Oluwadamilare Adewale – Supervisor for Transport and Parks
• Cornelius Akinyele – Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Special Duties and Civic Engagements
• Timileyin Apelaye – Special Adviser on Health
• Michael Talabi – Special Adviser on Legislative Matters
• Abu Mumuni – Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Community Affairs
• Jonathan Sunday Olonde – Special Adviser on Environment and Sanitation
• Bolaji Oke – Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA)
• Gbedeji Victor Yemaren – Special Adviser on Market Affairs
• Lukman Adele – Special Adviser on Revenue and Economic Planning
• Barnabas Abiodun Raji – Special Adviser on Disability and Inclusion

Kumayon urged the officials to work in unity, integrity and dedication as the administration moves towards the full implementation of the 2026 budget and the consolidation of ongoing development projects across the council area.

He reiterated that his administration remains committed to delivering policies and programmes that will strengthen local governance, stimulate socio-economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents of Olorunda Local Council Development Area.

The event attracted party leaders, traditional rulers, councillors, management staff of the council, members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, community leaders, youth groups and other stakeholders who gathered to witness the inauguration of the new cabinet.
