The Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert, on Tuesday paid an official visit to Olorunda Local Council Development Area where he held a closed door meeting with members of the Olorunda Chieftaincy Council at Iworo.
The Commissioner was received by the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, who joined him in the high level engagement with royal fathers and key stakeholders across the council.
Top traditional rulers at the meeting included Oba Oladele Friday Kosoko, the Oniworo of Iworo Awori Kingdom; Oba Olatunji Ogabi, the Onimeke of Imeke Kingdom, Oyikilu I; and Oba Solomon Adewale Egbenayon, the Owa Ajaka of Agemowo Kingdom. Several Baales and chiefs from different communities within Olorunda LCDA were also in attendance.
Although details of the meeting were not made public, sources indicated that discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the Lagos State Government, the local council and traditional institutions. Issues surrounding grassroots development, community peace and the preservation of cultural heritage were said to have featured prominently.
Speaking after the meeting, Hon. Kumayon described the Commissioner’s visit as a strong signal of the state government’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustained engagement with traditional authorities.
He reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to continue working hand in hand with royal fathers and community leaders to accelerate development across Olorunda LCDA.
Observers say the visit underscores the growing synergy between government institutions and traditional leadership structures in advancing sustainable development at the grassroots level.
