Kumayon Honoured for Grassroots Leadership as NGOs Present Award of Excellence

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area was on the receiving end of warm commendations as two prominent non governmental organisations, Kumayon Fans Club and Alajobi Community Development Foundation, paid him a courtesy visit to present an Award of Excellent and Quality Leadership.

The award was presented in recognition of the Chairman’s outstanding leadership style and consistent support for community driven initiatives across Olorunda LCDA. Leading the delegation, the President of Kumayon Fans Club, Hon Kudoro Abdulhakeem, formally handed over the award on behalf of both organisations.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon Kudoro praised the Chairman for his inclusive approach to governance and his openness to partnerships with civil society groups. He noted that Kumayon Fans Club and Alajobi Community Development Foundation are actively operating across the five wards of Olorunda LCDA, where they continue to contribute to grassroots development, youth engagement and community empowerment.

Responding, the Executive Chairman expressed deep appreciation to the two organisations, describing them as among the earliest groups to openly identify with the vision and direction of his administration. He reaffirmed his commitment to people oriented governance, stressing that his administration remains focused on grassroots development with priority attention on education, environmental sanitation and the expansion of modern motor park infrastructure.

According to him, ongoing and planned interventions along the Morogbo Agbara and Oko Afo axis are aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving transportation for residents and commuters.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Hon Alajobi Ahmed, Director of Alajobi Community Development Foundation, thanked the Chairman for granting the delegation audience despite his busy schedule. He also appreciated the local government for recognising and encouraging the contributions of non governmental organisations to community development.

The visit and award presentation further strengthened the working relationship between the Olorunda LCDA administration and the two NGOs, underscoring a shared commitment to sustainable development, community participation and responsive leadership.
