Hon. Bamgbose Hontonyon Joseph, former Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency and Apex Leader of the All Progressives Congress APC in Badagry West, has declared that the party in the axis is now fully united, insisting that the era of factions and caucuses is over.
Bamgbose made this declaration while addressing party members during a visit to the APC membership registration centre at Suntan, where he urged members to embrace unity, discipline and internal cohesion in the interest of the party.
According to him, internal divisions and the use of social media to attack fellow party members only weaken the APC and damage its public image. He warned members to desist from washing party matters in public, stressing that disagreements should be resolved internally.
He noted that politics is not about perfection, adding that no individual within the party is without fault. He cautioned that public exchanges and online blackmail among members portray the APC in a negative light and undermine its strength.
Bamgbose referenced the recent social media controversy involving the immediate past council chairman, Hon. Gbenu Joseph, describing it as an issue that should have been handled quietly within the party structure rather than being escalated online. He said the incident further reinforced his call for unity.
He declared emphatically that APC in Badagry West is now one indivisible family, stressing that there are no longer caucuses or factions within the party. According to him, the party remains the dominant political force in the area and must act like one united front.
Beyond party affairs, Bamgbose also condemned acts of vandalism, particularly the cutting and theft of electrical cables and power infrastructure. He warned that such actions delay the extension of electricity to communities, a long-standing aspiration of the people.
He revealed that he had been informed of an attempted theft of a transformer in one of the communities, noting that swift intervention led to the recovery of the equipment, which was traced to Gbaji. He vowed that anyone found engaging in such criminal acts would be dealt with decisively.
Bamgbose called on party members and residents to take collective responsibility for protecting public infrastructure, urging them to support efforts geared towards development, peace and sustained unity across Badagry West.
