The Member representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, has thrown his weight behind early grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 general elections, urging members of the All Progressives Congress APC to close ranks and rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling party.
Hon. Whingan made this call after revalidating his APC membership at Ward I, Ikoga Zebbe, in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, during the party’s ongoing electronic registration and revalidation exercise.
Addressing party faithful at the ward, the federal lawmaker reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and restated his commitment to people focused and effective representation at the National Assembly. He described grassroots mobilisation as the lifeline of electoral success, stressing that the party must remain united, organised and closely connected to the people as preparations begin in earnest for the 2026 and 2027 electioneering season.
According to him, elections are not won in isolation but through consistent engagement with the grassroots, adding that the strength of the APC has always rested on its ability to mobilise from the ward level upward.
Hon. Whingan later joined party members at the Ikoga Ward meeting, where he welcomed stakeholders to the year 2026 and gave a detailed briefing on his legislative engagements at the House of Representatives. He highlighted motions, bills and other interventions he has pursued in the interest of Badagry Federal Constituency, assuring constituents that their voices continue to be represented at the Green Chamber.
The lawmaker also used the occasion to sensitise party members and constituents on tax matters and broader governance realities. He explained that 2025 was generally slow in terms of project execution, attributing the situation to economic and policy related challenges that affected projects across board. However, he expressed optimism about the future, noting that 2026 is expected to record improved performance as efforts are already underway to fast track development and infrastructure delivery.
Despite the challenges, Hon. Whingan maintained that the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly on course. He urged party members to remain patient, informed and supportive as ongoing reforms begin to yield results.
He concluded by calling for unity within the APC, sustained grassroots engagement and collective responsibility in strengthening the party’s presence across Badagry. According to him, only a united and mobilised APC can secure victory in 2027 and deliver meaningful and lasting development to the people of Badagry Federal Constituency.
