According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Lasisi was brought before the court on Thursday on a three count charge bordering on belonging to an unlawful society threat to life and conduct likely to breach public peace.
The Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni did not take the plea of the defendant during the sitting. Instead he directed that the case file be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. The matter was subsequently adjourned until February 19 for mention.
Earlier the prosecutor ASP Edet Ekpo told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on December 13 2025 at No 20 Jejelaye Street in the Ajangbadi area of Lagos.
Ekpo alleged that Lasisi was a member of an unlawful society known as the Aye Confraternity which is prohibited under Lagos State law. He further told the court that the defendant harassed the complainant Serifat Lasisi and issued threats to kill her thereby creating fear and tension capable of disrupting public order.
The prosecutor said the actions of the defendant amounted to a serious breach of peace and posed a threat to life stressing that such behaviour should not be tolerated in a civil society.
He added that the alleged offences contravened Sections 42 56 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
In his ruling Magistrate Layeni ordered that the defendant be remanded in custody at the Badagry Correctional Centre pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case underscores ongoing concerns about cult related activities and personal threats within residential communities and the need for firm legal action to deter violence and protect lives.
