2027 Politics Begins to Whisper as LAWMA Boss Gbadegeshin Billboard Surfaces in Ibadan

The quiet politics of succession ahead of 2027 may have taken an unexpected turn following the appearance of a campaign style billboard bearing the image of Dr Muyiwa Gbadegeshin, Managing Director of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority LAWMA, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The billboard, which has since stirred intense conversations online and offline, was reportedly mounted at Sat Guru Maharaji Camp, a strategic location widely regarded as the Lagos gateway into Ibadan. Its placement alone has fueled speculation that the LAWMA boss may be nursing a governorship ambition in Oyo State, even though no formal declaration has been made.

According to information available, the billboard was sponsored by Hon Sunmonu Waliu Kolade, a move that further deepened public curiosity about the motive and timing of the display. For many political observers, the development fits the familiar pre election pattern where early signals are quietly sent long before official campaigns begin.

On social media, especially Facebook, reactions have been swift and divided. While some dismissed the billboard as mere political solidarity or personal support, others insist that such a calculated move cannot be accidental. As one popular refrain among commentators puts it, there is no smoke without fire.

Adding to the debate, social media influencer Mr Gbolahan Ogundimu Odusanya weighed in on the matter, noting that although Dr Gbadegeshin is his friend, he is not aware of any governorship ambition. Still, he offered his goodwill, wishing the LAWMA MD success should the rumours eventually turn into reality.

For now, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegeshin has remained silent, neither confirming nor denying the speculation. Yet, the sudden appearance of his billboard outside Lagos, in the heart of Oyo State, has opened a fresh chapter in early 2027 calculations and raised questions about how many other silent ambitions are already taking shape beneath the surface of Nigeria’s political landscape.
