A 400-level Biochemistry student of Lagos State University (LASU), Ariyo Oluwaferanmi Mariam, has been crowned winner of the 6th edition of the Miss Eko International Pageant.
The glamorous event, which took place at Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, brought together contestants from across Lagos State. Mariam, who represented Agege Local Government, stood out to clinch the crown.
Beyond her beauty, Mariam is also a fashion model and entrepreneur. Shortly after her coronation, she unveiled her pet project tagged Eko for ECO, an environmental sustainability campaign aimed at reducing waste, promoting green living, and raising awareness about conservation. The initiative is expected to kick off in September.
“I am thrilled to take on this new role and contribute to the betterment of our environment,” the newly crowned queen said.
The organisers, Ivory Forte Entertainment, led by CEO Egbe Emmanuel, described Mariam as an exceptional choice, noting that her passion for environmental issues and vision for community impact made her stand out.
Mariam, the first of four children, had her early education in Lagos. She also holds a National Diploma in Airline Ticketing and Reservation from the Universal School of Aviation.
