Badagry-born professional footballer, Konko Daniel, has emerged champion of the 2025/2026 Burundi Primus League after helping Aigle Noir FC secure the league title in impressive fashion.

Aigle Noir sealed the championship after finishing top of the Burundi Primus League table with 68 points following a remarkable campaign. League standings released at the end of the season confirmed the club’s dominance ahead of close rivals Musongati FC and Flambeau du Centre. 

Konko Daniel, a native of Ikoga Zebbe in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, played a significant role in the club’s successful season, earning praise from supporters and football enthusiasts for his contribution to the title-winning side.

The championship further highlights the growing impact of Nigerian football talents across African leagues, with Konko Daniel becoming one of the latest Badagry-born players to achieve success on the international stage.

Aigle Noir’s triumph has since sparked celebration among football fans in Badagry, especially in Ikoga Zebbe community, where many have described the feat as a proud moment for the town and the entire Badagry division.
