2027: Lagos APC Constitutes Primary Elections Committee - See Full List

The All Progressives Congress in Lagos State has constituted a Local Organising Committee ahead of its forthcoming primary elections as preparations gradually gather momentum for the 2027 political season.

The development, exclusively reported by The Gazelle News, saw the Secretary of the Governance Advisory Council, Mutiu Are, appointed as Chairman of the committee.

Also named as Secretary of the committee is Olayinka Adekunle, who currently serves as Special Adviser to the Governor on Works.

According to the report, the committee will coordinate the administrative and operational framework for the conduct of the party’s primary elections across the state.

The list, obtained on Saturday, May 9, 2026, also revealed the composition of several strategic sub-committees expected to handle planning, mobilisation, media engagement, security and special assignments during the exercise.

Members of the Planning and Strategy Sub-Committee include Oyinlomo Danmole, Jide Adams, Abayomi Oluyomi, Folashade Bakare, Olugbenga Nollah, Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, Toyin Suarau and Segun Ogunlewe.

The Contacts and Mobilisation Sub-Committee has Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Sunday Aboyade, Olayinka Olusanya, Fatai Akinderu, Abayomi Daramola, J.S. Babatunde, Olugbenga Abdullahi, Kazeem Kayode Eleshin and Fatai Ayoola as members.

For the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, the party named Jide Adams, Balogun Yomi, Ayo Olugbenro and Haffez Odunewu.

The Security Sub-Committee features Ajibade Taiwo Oyekan, Adeola Jokomba, Bayo Sanwo-Olu and Kamorudeen Adegoke Ajape.

Meanwhile, the Special Duties Sub-Committee includes Lateef Ibirogba, Damilola Senayon-James, Akeem Muniru and Mukhtar Tijani.

Political observers believe the constitution of the committee signals the early strategic moves by the Lagos APC leadership towards ensuring a coordinated and seamless primary election process ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
