The legislative arm of Olorunda Local Council Development Area on Thursday screened the nominee for Secretary to the Local Government alongside 15 nominees for the positions of Supervisors and Special Advisers as part of efforts to complete the formation of the council’s executive team. The exercise, held at the council’s legislative block, saw the nominees appear before the lawmakers for questioning and verification of their credentials in a process aimed at ensuring that competent hands are appointed to help drive the administration of the council. The screening session was led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Dauda Aina, who presided over proceedings as each nominee was invited one after the other to respond to questions from councilors and present relevant documents. Among those screened was Hon. Other nominees who appeared before the lawmakers included Wahab Ashade, Otegbogla Isaac Adediji, Mrs. Timileyiapelaye Nofisa, Jimoh Nuatin Amosu, Moses Adewale Falola, Joshua Oke Afolabi, Gandonu Abodo John, Michael Talabi, Bankole Afeez, Adeosun Wahab, Alhaja Kuburat Okunade, Abu Mumuni, Bolaji Oke, Jonathan Sunday Olonde and Gbedeji Victor Yemaren. Addressing the nominees shortly after the screening exercise, Hon. Aina urged them to work in close partnership with the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, stressing that unity and cooperation would be key to the success of the administration. He emphasized the need for the incoming officials to place the interest of the people above personal or political considerations and remain committed to the ideals of public service. According to him, only through teamwork and collective responsibility can the council achieve its development goals and ensure that residents of Olorunda LCDA enjoy the real dividends of democracy. The screening exercise marks a major step in the consolidation of the new administration’s governance structure as the council moves to strengthen service delivery and accelerate grassroots development across the LCDA.
