Kumayon Inducted into 2026 Hall of Fame, Receives Doctorate Fellowship

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has been inducted into the 2026 Hall of Fame and awarded a Doctorate Fellowship in Strategic Leadership and Public Resources Management in recognition of his contributions to public leadership, governance and grassroots development.

The honour was conferred by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana, during a special presentation held at the Chairman’s Office in Iworo, Olorunda LCDA, Badagry, Lagos State.

The ceremony drew members of the council management, legislators, family members and staff who gathered to witness the recognition of the council chairman for what the institute described as his commitment to ethical leadership and impactful public service.

The Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, a Ghanaian professional body with operational presence in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, focuses on promoting ethical governance, responsible political engagement and effective management of public resources across the continent.

Presenting the award, the Vice President for Educational Training of the institute, Dr. Shey Philips, described the honour as one of the organisation’s highest recognitions, reserved for leaders whose careers demonstrate discipline, integrity, visionary leadership and measurable impact in public service.

According to him, Kumayon’s years of service as a public administrator and advocate for community development distinguished him as a deserving recipient of the recognition.

The institute noted that the Olorunda LCDA chairman’s leadership footprint, public service achievements and contributions to grassroots development reflect the core values the organisation promotes in governance and public resource management.

In its citation, the institute commended Kumayon for consistently demonstrating that leadership goes beyond occupying positions of authority, noting that his record reflects humility, responsibility and unwavering dedication to service.

The organisation further described him as a transformative leader who embodies discipline, resilience, creativity and optimism in governance.

It added that the fellowship and Hall of Fame induction recognise his integrity, dedication and contributions to public leadership, while also celebrating his role as an inspiration to emerging leaders across Africa.

With the honour, Kumayon joins a distinguished group of leaders recognised for advancing ethical leadership and promoting responsible public resource management as key drivers of sustainable development across the continent.

The recognition was announced in a statement issued by the Media Unit, Office of the Executive Chairman, Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Lagos State.
