A prominent youth figure in Badagry, Mr. Taiwo Gbesoevi, has commended Hon. Solomon Bonu Saanu, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, for facilitating the appointment of youths into key positions within the newly constituted Local Government Executive Council in Badagry West.
Hon. Bonu, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture in the Lagos State House of Assembly, was praised for what Gbesoevi described as a deliberate effort to empower young people and promote inclusive governance within the constituency.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Gbesoevi applauded the lawmaker for demonstrating proactive leadership by creating opportunities for capable individuals within the community through the appointments of Supervisors and Special Advisers.
According to him, the move reflects a strong commitment to human capacity development and youth inclusion in governance.
“I want to sincerely commend Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu for his proactive commitment to building human capacity by appointing and empowering competent individuals within our constituency,” Gbesoevi wrote.
He added that the appointments have helped to strengthen inclusion and give many youths and stakeholders a renewed sense of belonging in the political and administrative structure of the area.
“Through these strategic appointments, he has demonstrated true leadership by creating opportunities, strengthening inclusion, and giving our youth and stakeholders a genuine sense of belonging. Leadership that invests in people is leadership that secures the future,” he stated.
Gbesoevi also congratulated the newly appointed council officials, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by adopting the people-focused leadership style demonstrated by Hon. Bonu.
He encouraged them to prioritize human development and inclusive growth in the discharge of their duties, noting that such an approach would help them leave a meaningful and lasting impact on the Badagry community.
The youth leader expressed optimism that the appointments would inspire greater participation of young people in governance and contribute to the continued development of Badagry West and the wider constituency.
