The political family of Badagry has received a boost as Mr Akinosi Olawale Isaac, a prominent grassroots leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ward B, Olorunda Local Council Development Area, has been appointed into the party’s National Convention Committee.
Akinosi, who serves as the ward coordinator to Hon Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, member representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was named as a member of the Ceremonial, Programmes and Event Subcommittee for the forthcoming APC National Convention.
The development was announced on Tuesday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, in a press statement unveiling the composition of the various subcommittees ahead of the convention scheduled to hold in March.
The Ceremonial, Programmes and Event Committee is chaired by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, serving as Co Chairman. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, is the Vice Chairman, while the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, will serve as Secretary of the committee.
Party stakeholders in Olorunda LCDA and across Badagry have described Akinosi’s appointment as a recognition of his loyalty, administrative capacity and long standing contributions to the growth of the APC at the grassroots level.
A senior civil servant and respected mobiliser, Akinosi is also a state leader of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees. Over the years, he has remained active in party organisation, coordination and community engagement within Olorunda LCDA and the wider Badagry Local Government Area.
His inclusion in a high powered national committee dominated by top federal office holders is seen by party faithful as a significant moment for Badagry, further strengthening the constituency’s visibility within the national structure of the APC.
The APC National Convention, billed for March, is expected to attract party leaders and delegates from across the country as the ruling party sets the tone for its next phase of political activities.
