Family members, political associates and community leaders converged in Badagry to mark the one year remembrance of the late political icon Dr Akinsanya Sunny Ajose OON in a solemn atmosphere of prayers and reflection.

The remembrance service was held as a special prayer session, drawing friends, well wishers and admirers who came to honor a man widely remembered for his deep commitment to grassroots politics and community development in Badagry. The service provided an opportunity for attendees to reflect on Dr Ajose’s life, values and enduring influence on local politics.

The Celestial Church of Christ conducted the service, setting a calm and spiritual tone as prayers were offered for the repose of his soul and for the continued strength of his family. The gathering was marked by moments of quiet reflection, as speakers and worshippers alike acknowledged the vacuum his passing left within the political and social landscape of Badagry.

Several prominent political figures and dignitaries were present, underscoring the wide respect Dr Ajose commanded across party lines and generations. Among those in attendance were Hon Bamgbose Joseph FMHR, Hon Sesi Whingan MHR, Hon Babatunde Hunpe Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon Ajose Peter Kumayon Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon Onilude Adeniran former council chairman Badagry Local Government, Hon Gbenu Joseph former chairman Badagry West LCDA, Hon Abudi Amida former chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon Gafar Meyon APC LGA chairman Badagry Local Government, Hon Sejoro FMHR and Chief Leader N H Ogunbiyi.

Also present were Rtd DCG Abiodun Towanu Hundeyin a member of the Lagos State University Governing Council, members of the Agano Royal Council and wives of key dignitaries, adding a strong traditional and family presence to the event.

Speakers at the service described Dr Ajose as a bridge builder and a mentor who devoted his life to public service and the political growth of Badagry. They noted that his counsel, leadership style and commitment to unity continue to guide many who worked closely with him.

The turnout and mood of the remembrance reflected the deep admiration and lasting legacy Dr Sunny Ajose left behind. As prayers were offered and memories shared, attendees agreed that his contributions to Badagry politics and community life would not be forgotten, even as his ideals continue to inspire the next generation of leaders.
