De Achievers Charity Foundation Brings Smiles to Widows and Children in Badagry at Christmas

Mosafejo Town Hall in Olorunda Local Council Development Area of Badagry was filled with joy, laughter and heartfelt emotions on Tuesday as De Achievers Charity Foundation rolled out a special outreach for widows and children in the community.

The event created an atmosphere of love and care from the moment it began. The foundation, founded by a compassionate woman and run by a team of dedicated volunteers, organised the programme specifically to support widows. This year’s edition was even more touching as children were also included, making the outreach more impactful.

Food items including rice, garri, yam, spaghetti and other essential items were shared among the widows. The distribution was done orderly, ensuring that everyone present benefitted. Smiles and words of gratitude filled the hall as the women received the items meant to ease their burdens.

The children were not left out of the day’s joy. Each child was called forward and presented with school bags containing books, storybooks, rulers, sharpeners, erasers, brushes and other back to school materials. The excitement on their faces said it all as they proudly displayed their gifts.

One of the highlights of the event came when the children were asked to pick wrapped papers from a box. While some picked papers that read Happy New Year, others were lucky to receive a special surprise of ten thousand naira. Those who picked the winning slips were rewarded with the cash to support their school needs, sparking loud cheers and applause across the hall.

The fun continued as thirty adults were invited out to dance amid laughter and cheers. From the group, ten lucky participants were selected and each went home with ten thousand naira. The atmosphere remained lively as the audience clapped and celebrated the winners.

The programme also featured prayers, goodwill messages and seamless coordination by the master of ceremonies. Traditional ruler of the area, the Baale of Mosafejo, alongside other notable guests, graced the occasion and commended the foundation for its compassion and consistency in supporting the less privileged.

True to its mission of saving lives and restoring hope, De Achievers Charity Foundation once again demonstrated the power of kindness. By the end of the programme, all remaining items were shared among the widows and children, many of whom left the venue with smiles, gratitude and renewed hope for the future.

The event stood as a strong reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of those who need it most.
