In a move that has been described as both rare and deeply impactful, the Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom has donated a fully completed Naval Post to boost security around the busy Epeme Jetty in Iworo. The new facility, built by the Iworo Oba in Council under the leadership of His Royal Majesty Oba Oladele Friday Kosoko, was officially commissioned on Friday, 21 November 2025.
Report by Citymood Badagry suggests that the monarch hosted its the Managing Director, Dr Sewhude Akande, where he spoke openly about his unwavering commitment to the safety of his people. He noted that concerns over rising threats around the waterways inspired his earlier donation of a police station building and now the construction of a naval post to further secure the area and support naval operations.
Oba Kosoko’s leadership has continued to attract praise across the kingdom. Beyond security, he has spearheaded several developmental projects including the construction of a central palace for effective administration, the establishment of a community radio station, the development of housing estates and the facilitation of the UBEC Smart Model School, a federal ICT driven educational project.
Through these steady and impactful initiatives, the Oniworo has continued to cement his place as a driving force for growth, security and community advancement in Iworo Kingdom.
