The Lagos State Government is on the verge of completing another major milestone in its healthcare development drive, with the near completion of a 280-bed multi-specialist hospital in Ojo Local Government Area, along the Badagry Expressway.
The hospital, designed to meet global standards, will feature world-class infrastructure, cutting-edge medical equipment, and a team of highly skilled professionals. Once operational, it is expected to deliver advanced healthcare services to residents, reduce pressure on existing medical facilities, and enhance the state’s overall medical capacity.
Government officials revealed that the project is part of ongoing strategic investments in the health sector under the THEMES Plus Agenda, which places strong emphasis on quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare for Lagosians.
With this development, the Ojo facility will join other flagship health projects aimed at strengthening Lagos State’s position as a hub for medical excellence, while also helping to reduce medical tourism by providing services locally that many residents currently travel abroad to seek.
The state government reiterated its commitment to ensuring that healthcare delivery in Lagos keeps pace with the growing population, stressing that the new hospital will serve as a critical step toward achieving universal health coverage in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
