The leadership tussle rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) took a dramatic turn on Thursday as the Federal High Court restrained former Senate President David Mark, ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, and several others from parading themselves as members of the party’s national executive.
In its reaction, the ADC described the ruling as a landmark victory that has vindicated its stance on the legitimacy of its leadership. The party said the judgment reaffirms its commitment to restoring what it called the “authentic glory” of the ADC, free from what it termed “external distractions and hijack attempts.”
Dr. Christopher Okechukwu, the ADC’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, welcomed the ruling with optimism and extended an open invitation to Nigerians across political divides to join the party. According to him, membership registration would soon be made seamless and accessible nationwide.
Reiterating its position, the party urged its coalition partners and supporters to rally behind the leadership of Hon. Nafiu Bala as the authentic National Chairman, stressing that collective effort and unity remain central to building a stronger, more inclusive political future for Nigeria.
