APC Crisis in Jigawa: Coalition Seeks Disciplinary Measures

A coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters in Jigawa State is calling on the party’s national leadership to take action against what it describes as gross indiscipline and anti-party activities by some members.

The chairman of the coalition, Engr. Saidu Ibrahim Uba, made the appeal in Dutse while reacting to the violent clash that erupted last Sunday in Kafin-Hausa, Governor Umar Namadi’s hometown. Two rival APC factions reportedly clashed during a political event.

“We are deeply concerned about a situation that threatens the peace, unity, and stability of our great party, especially here in Jigawa,” Uba said.

The group wants the APC leadership to urgently investigate the alleged misconduct, which they say has caused public embarrassment and unrest. They are also pushing for disciplinary measures in line with the party’s constitution to deter others from undermining the APC’s unity.

According to Uba, the APC stands for discipline, integrity, and unity, and it’s unacceptable for individuals in high positions to engage in divisive acts that endanger peace and progress.

The coalition reaffirmed its loyalty to the party’s leadership and expressed strong support for Governor Umar Namadi, praising his developmental efforts and inclusive governance in Jigawa State.

They also condemned what they described as inciting and inflammatory remarks allegedly made against the governor and the party leadership.

The crisis erupted during a reception organized to honor APC chieftain Hon. Zakari Sidi Kafin-Hausa for his contributions to the community’s development. The event coincided with a pro-Tinubu rally supporting his 2027 re-election bid. Things turned violent when political thugs invaded the venue, leaving many injured and vehicles vandalized.

Reports indicate the attack happened near the end of the event at Kafin-Hausa Local Government Area and that several innocent bystanders were also caught in the chaos. The event was attended by APC’s National Financial Secretary, Bashir Gumel.
