JUST IN: Lagos Speaker’s Son, Abdulganiyu Obasa, Takes Over as Agege LG Acting Chairman

The political landscape in Agege Local Government has witnessed a notable shift as emerging reports suggest that Hon. Abdulganiyu Vinod Obasa, son of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has officially taken over as Acting Chairman of the council.

According to multiple sources, this development follows the temporary exit of the council’s substantive chairman, Hon. Tunde Azeez, popularly known as Tunde Disco, who has proceeded on medical leave for proper diagnosis and treatment. In line with the provisions of local government administration, Azeez handed over the reins of office to his deputy before departing for medical care.

Hon. Vinod Obasa will now pilot the affairs of Agege Local Government in an acting capacity, overseeing council operations and community development initiatives until his principal’s return.

The transition has sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms, with residents, political stakeholders, and community voices closely watching the unfolding situation. While some commentators expressed concern over perceived political dynasty influences in Agege, others emphasized the importance of continuity in governance and wished the Acting Chairman success in steering the council.

Well-wishers have also flooded online platforms with prayers for Hon. Tunde Azeez’s quick recovery, describing him as a grassroots leader who has made visible impacts in the local government.

As the Acting Chairman settles into his new role, attention is expected to focus on how he manages council affairs, maintains stability, and upholds the trust of the people during this transitional period.
