The Federal Government, through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has commenced applications for its Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) targeted at micro and nano enterprises operating within local government areas across the country.
The initiative, fully backed by the government, offers financial support of up to ₦50,000 to eligible small business owners. According to SMEDAN, the scheme is specifically designed to boost job creation, enhance business sustainability, and empower entrepreneurs at the grassroots.
In a statement, the agency explained that the grants are intended to help nano businesses strengthen their workforce and acquire essential equipment. It noted that the CGS provides financial assistance under set conditions, aimed at ensuring the long-term growth of micro enterprises.
How to Apply
Interested small business owners can apply through approved channels, including the official online portal, designated application forms, or authorised government offices. Applicants must submit all required documents and a project proposal that aligns with the scheme’s guidelines to be considered.
The application portal is now live, and eligible entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply promptly to take advantage of the funding opportunity.
