2027 Guber Hopeful Ajose Unveils SMA Foundation in Badagry, Promises Jobs, Education and Modern Markets for Lagosians

Badagry witnessed a major political and social milestone on Thursday as 2027 Lagos State governorship hopeful, Samuel Mawuyon Ajose (SMA), officially launched the SMA Foundation — a people-focused initiative aimed at transforming education, healthcare, and economic opportunities across Lagos.

Speaking at the colorful event, Ajose said the foundation was created to leave a lasting legacy for Lagos residents.

“We are here today to launch the SMA Foundation. This is about legacy. We want to build something enduring for our town and our state,” he told the cheering audience.

Ajose announced that the foundation had already commenced work on a 65-acre waterfront aquatic resort in Badagry — a signature project projected to create over 500 jobs for youths when completed. He also disclosed plans to transform Agbalata Market into a world-class international trading hub and to support education by distributing 300 GCE forms to students from Badagry.

“We believe development works best when it comes from within. Every project of this foundation will involve our people, build capacity and give ownership to our communities. While our roots are here, the SMA Foundation belongs to Lagos State. Every Lagosian — whether in Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe or the Island — will feel its impact,” Ajose assured.

On his part, Mr. Ashade, an executive of the foundation, described it as a non-political, people-driven vehicle for sustainable development.

“This is not a one-off charity. It is a structured effort to change lives sustainably. From scholarships to health outreaches and enterprise support, the programs will continue to expand so that no Lagosian is left behind,” he said.

Adding his voice, former Lagos commissioner, Mr. Saka Senayon, hailed Ajose’s commitment to service, noting that the foundation was proof of leadership rooted in knowledge and compassion.

“This gathering is not about party politics but about the SMA Foundation. Ajose is a man educated both at home and abroad who has consistently stood by his people,” he remarked.

Though its headquarters is in Badagry, the SMA Foundation is designed to reach every corner of Lagos, reflecting Ajose’s broader vision as he cements his place among the frontline contenders for the 2027 governorship race.
