The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, in a bold commitment to grassroots inclusion has pledged to involve the Community Development Committees (CDCs) and Community Development Associations (CDAs) in all major decision-making processes if elected.

Kumayon, a retired civil servant and seasoned technocrat, made the declaration at his campaign office in Mowo while receiving executives of the Alaran Golden Estate CDA. The group had paid him a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his emergence as the party’s flagbearer.

Reiterating the same position on Monday while hosting APC stakeholders from the Atinplome Zone in Ward C of Olorunda LCDA, Kumayon emphasized that his administration would prioritize transparency, accessibility, and community engagement.

“I am going to run an open-door policy and an inclusive government,” Kumayon said. “Before any project is executed in any part of Olorunda, the council will consult with the respective CDA and the CDC to understand the unique needs of each community. That way, we don’t end up providing water to a community that actually needs road rehabilitation or drainage.”

The APC candidate stressed that effective governance must be rooted in grassroots realities, noting that CDAs and CDCs are the closest structures to the people and best positioned to highlight local challenges.

“This is not just campaign talk,” Kumayon added. “It is a governance philosophy. The era of top-down development decisions is over. Under my leadership, community voices will not only be heard — they will guide our actions.”

His remarks were warmly received by attendees, many of whom applauded his people-centric approach and commitment to partnership.

As the countdown to the council elections continues, Kumayon’s promise of an inclusive, responsive government is fast becoming a central theme of his campaign, resonating with residents eager for meaningful development and real community participation.
