It was another day of impact and upliftment in Ikeja Federal Constituency as Hon. James Abiodun Faleke rolled out a fresh round of empowerment under his Mini Mega Empowerment Programme, aimed at supporting economic self-reliance and youth development.
At Tuesday’s event, 240 young men and women from across Ikeja, Ojodu, and Onigbongbo local council areas each received a ₦100,000 cash grant to support their small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures. In addition to the cash support, over 400 constituents benefitted from a wide range of empowerment tools including tricycles, dispatch motorcycles, freezers, generators, popcorn machines, clippers, grinding machines, and juice extractors.
“This is yet another impactful day for our constituency. We’re committed to ensuring that our people have the tools and resources to build meaningful livelihoods,” said Hon. Faleke during the programme. “This isn’t just empowerment—it’s about economic freedom and dignity.”
The initiative continues on Wednesday and Thursday, when an additional 170 participants will undergo business training sessions designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to sustain their ventures. Upon completion, each trainee will also receive cash grants to launch or expand their businesses.
Hon. Faleke urged beneficiaries to use the opportunity wisely, stay away from social vices, and contribute positively to the growth of their communities. He also called on constituents to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda for Nigeria, and to rally behind APC candidates in the forthcoming local government elections.
“As we celebrate, let’s remember that our collective progress depends on how well we support each other and stay united,” he added.
The empowerment programme is part of Hon. Faleke’s ongoing efforts to stimulate grassroots development and improve the standard of living across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
