Following widespread discontent over the outcome of its May 10, 2025, local government primaries, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated reconciliation committees across all senatorial districts in the state.
As previously reported by Badagry Today, the party, grappling with internal strife, has seen several aggrieved members voice dissatisfaction over the conduct of the primaries held at the APC's state secretariat in Lagos. Yesterday, a reconciliation committee was inaugurated. Although party leaders have insisted that the exercise was successful, critics within the ranks continue to fault the consensus method used to select candidates for the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.
In a bid to mend fences and restore unity ahead of the upcoming local government elections, the APC leadership, on Tuesday, set up reconciliation committees tasked with resolving post-primary disputes and addressing members’ grievances.
A statement released by the party's spokesperson, Oluseye Oladejo, confirmed the move. He said the committees were structured along senatorial lines to ensure effective engagement and timely resolution of issues.
“The committee has been decentralised for ease of operation and to deliver on its mandate on time,” Oladejo stated.
