With local government elections fast approaching, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry has launched a sweeping reconciliation effort aimed at uniting its ranks and energizing its base for victory at the polls.
Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, the APC’s chairmanship candidate for Badagry, is leading the charge. In a passionate appeal over the weekend, he urged all councillorship candidates and party stakeholders across the constituency to put aside differences and begin grassroots reconciliation in their respective wards.
“We must all see ourselves as one big family,” Hunpe said. “This election is not about individual ambition, but about the progress and development of Badagry. I urge all our candidates and leaders to close ranks and work together.”
Hunpe stressed that internal peace and party unity are non-negotiable if the APC is to maintain its political dominance. He also announced that the party’s leadership will personally visit every ward to oversee the reconciliation process and ensure that all grievances are addressed.
Joining Hunpe in the call for unity, APC Badagry Chairman Hon. Gafari Muritala reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusiveness. He noted that every member—regardless of past disagreements—has a role to play in the party’s future.
“This party belongs to all of us,” Muritala said. “Deliberate and sincere efforts are underway to reach out to everyone. Unity is the bedrock of victory, and we are determined to build that unity.”
The APC’s reconciliation campaign aims to mend fences, heal old wounds, and reenergize the party’s structure across all wards. Party leaders hope that a united front will not only boost their chances in the upcoming elections but also strengthen the APC’s long-term presence in Badagry politics.
As the campaign season kicks off in earnest, the APC in Badagry is betting that teamwork and togetherness will be the key to winning big at the polls.
