The Joint Taskforce JTF in Olorunda Local Council Development Area has arrested a man identified as Femi Oni over the alleged theft of two motorcycles in one night at Magbon, Imeke of the LCDA in Badagry
The community security outfit, empowered by the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, reportedly moved into action following a tip off that led to Oni’s arrest in the Magbon area of Imeke.
Speaking with Badagry Today, the JTF Officer in Charge of Operations, Mr. Adesina Lateef, said the suspect was arrested after the corps received information about the incident.
According to him, Oni admitted during interrogation to stealing the two motorcycles in the same area at about 4am on Thursday. The suspect also reportedly mentioned one Lekan as an accomplice, who is currently at large.
Adesina said the JTF would continue efforts to track down the fleeing suspect, adding that Oni and the recovered exhibits would be handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The JTF has continued to strengthen community security across Olorunda LCDA since the commencement of the Ajose administration. The security outfit was recently equipped with operational materials, including a vehicle, by the council chairman to support its operations and improve security in communities across the council area.
