The Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has presented a brand-new Toyota Camry to Mrs. Rachael Folake Alamu, the Principal of Community High School, Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, in recognition of her courage and resilience after surviving a traumatic kidnapping ordeal.
Mrs. Alamu was among the teachers abducted alongside pupils during the May attack on Community High School, Esiele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School. While in captivity, she was reportedly forced by the kidnappers to appear in several videos used to communicate with the outside world.
Presenting the vehicle, Senator Alli praised the principal for remaining strong and committed to the welfare of the abducted pupils despite the difficult conditions they endured. He described the donation as a symbol of appreciation for her bravery and a show of support for victims of insecurity, expressing hope that it would aid her recovery.
The gesture has been widely commended by residents and stakeholders in Oriire Local Government, who described it as a compassionate recognition of the sacrifices made by teachers. Mrs. Alamu and the other abducted pupils and teachers were eventually rescued after spending several weeks in captivity, bringing relief to their families and the entire Oyo State.
