Olorunda Female Councillor Itunuoluwa Distributes Educational Materials, Palliatives to Pupils, Widows, Fan to PHC

Pupils, widows and indigent residents in Araromi Ale, Ward E of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, have benefited from a humanitarian outreach organised by the Deputy Leader of the Olorunda Legislative Council, Hon. Alice Itunuoluwa Ambe, through her foundation, the Alice Itunuoluwa Foundation.

The event, which marked the inaugural programme of the foundation, attracted a large turnout of community leaders, traditional rulers, party stakeholders, women groups and residents who gathered in the community to witness the outreach initiative.

As part of the programme, thousands of exercise notebooks were distributed to pupils from the three Araromi Ale Primary Schools. The educational support brought excitement to the pupils, while teachers and parents described the gesture as a timely intervention to encourage learning among school children in the area.

The foundation also distributed food palliatives to indigent residents and party members within the community. Ramadan packages were equally presented to party leaders in recognition of the ongoing Muslim fasting period.

In another highlight of the programme, cash gifts were presented to widows as support sent by the Chairperson of Olorunda LCDA, Mrs. Folashade Kumayon. The beneficiaries expressed appreciation, describing the assistance as timely and impactful.

The foundation further extended support to the health sector with the donation of a standing fan to the Araromi Ale Health Centre to improve comfort for patients and healthcare workers.

Traditional rulers present at the event included the Baale of Araromi Ale, Chief Adele Afuye (Boripe I), the Baale Alaworo, Chief Jelili Ashade, and the Baale of Elerun, who commended the initiative and offered royal blessings for its success.

Speaking at the gathering, Hon. Ambe expressed gratitude to residents, community leaders and dignitaries who attended the programme. She assured that the outreach would not be a one-time initiative, promising that the foundation would organise similar programmes every six months to continually support residents and put smiles on the faces of people in the ward.

Community stakeholders who spoke at the event applauded the Deputy Leader for the initiative, noting that it was the first time a councillor from the ward had organised such a large-scale humanitarian outreach for residents.

They also commended the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, for the developmental strides being recorded across the council area and expressed optimism that the administration would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
