The Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has hailed Iworo FM 96.3 as a vital link between government and the grassroots, crediting the station with expanding access to information across Badagry within just one year.
Represented at the anniversary celebration by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Cornelius Akinyele, the chairman commended the founder, management and staff for their resilience in building a fast growing community radio platform.
He described the media as a strategic partner in development, stressing that radio remains the most accessible and reliable medium, especially in indigenous communities where digital access is limited.
Hon. Kumayon expressed pride that Iworo FM is located in Olorunda LCDA and assured continued government patronage and an enabling environment for more media institutions to thrive.
He also urged stakeholders to support youth empowerment through the Achievers School of Communication and Media Studies, noting that its NUC approved programmes offer skills for sustainable development.
The council chairman concluded by congratulating the station on its first anniversary and praying for greater growth, wider influence and sustained credible broadcasting in the years ahead.
