Tinubu'll Complete Sokoto-Badagry Highway, Lawmaker Assures Constituents, Highlights Benefits

A member of the House of Representatives representing Egbado South and Ipokia Federal Constituency of Ogun State, Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade, has assured Nigerians, particularly people of the South West, that the ongoing construction of the Sokoto Badagry Highway will be completed before the end of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Akinlade gave the assurance while speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of two ultra modern palaces in Ilobi and Alaari communities within Egbado South and Ipokia Federal, Guardian Newspaper report says. According to him, the Sokoto Badagry Highway remains a priority project for the Tinubu led Federal Government due to its strategic importance to national development and regional integration.

The lawmaker explained that Ogun State stands to gain enormously from the completion of the road, noting that it will open up rural and agrarian communities, ease the transportation of farm produce, and stimulate economic activities across the state. He added that the highway will also contribute significantly to the growth of Ogun State’s internally generated revenue once completed.

He further stated that the President is deeply committed to the project and sees it as a vital infrastructure that will bring relief, improved connectivity, and economic prosperity to the South West and other regions linked by the highway.

Hon. Akinlade stressed that the Federal Government is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that the Sokoto Badagry Highway is completed within the lifespan of the current administration, urging residents to remain hopeful and supportive as work progresses.

The lawmaker described the road project as a game changer that will strengthen trade, enhance security through improved access, and deepen national integration when fully delivered, reiterating that President Tinubu’s administration remains focused on fulfilling its infrastructure promises to Nigerians.
