Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, is set to pay a condolence visit to the palace of the Akran of Badagry as the ancient town concludes the nine-day funeral rites of its revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, Aholu Menu Toyi I.
The visit was disclosed in a statement by the Official Facebook page of Badagry Local Government, announcing that the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon Babatunde Hunpe, on behalf of the people of Badagry, will formally receive the governor at the palace.
According to the statement, the governor’s visit is in honour of the late Akran and in solidarity with the royal family and the entire Badagry community at this solemn moment marking the conclusion of the traditional funeral observances.
The condolence visit is expected to draw traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders and residents, as Badagry once again comes together to pay final respects to a monarch widely regarded as a custodian of culture, peace and unity in the ancient coastal town.
