Hunger Suspected as Unknown Woman Collapses with 7 Month Old Baby at Igando Bus Stop

A distressing scene unfolded on Wednesday at the Igando Omolade Bus Stop in Lagos when a young woman collapsed in public while carrying her seven month old baby, drawing concern from passersby and security personnel in the area.

The incident was first reported by the Nigeria Military Gallery through its official Facebook page, which disclosed that efforts were immediately made to assist the woman after she slumped. However, attempts to reach her family proved abortive as her mobile phone had no SIM card, leaving no contact information to trace relatives or caregivers.

According to the account, the matter was promptly reported to the Igando Police Station. Officers later conveyed the unconscious woman to Alimosho General Hospital in Igando for urgent medical attention.

Eyewitnesses at the scene painted a troubling picture of the woman’s condition prior to the incident. Several people confirmed that she was often seen around the area begging for food, particularly for her infant. One witness revealed that the woman had earlier approached a food vendor in search of work but was turned down because she had her baby with her.

Those present at the scene strongly suspect that prolonged hunger and exhaustion may have contributed to her sudden collapse. As of the last update, the woman remains unconscious and unresponsive at the hospital.

The Nigeria Military Gallery appealed to the public to help identify the woman, urging anyone who recognizes her or the baby to come forward. They also called for prayers, expressing hope for her recovery and safety, as concern continues to grow over the welfare of both mother and child.

Members of the public have been encouraged to share the information widely to help locate her family and ensure she receives the care and support she urgently needs.
