BREAKING NEWS: Lagos Prince Otunba Adekunle Ojora Dies at 93

Lagos has been thrown into mourning following the death of Otunba Dr Adekunle Ojora a highly respected prince and one of the most distinguished figures in the states royal and social circles. He died at the age of 93, report by Lagos Reporters says. 

Otunba Ojora who was the father of Mrs Toyin Saraki wife of former Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki reportedly passed away peacefully in Lagos on Tuesday January 27 2026 after a brief illness

Born in 1932 the late elder statesman hailed from the revered Ojora and Adele royal families two historic lineages traditionally eligible for the throne of the Oba of Lagos. His death has cast a solemn mood across Lagos high society and traditional institutions with many describing it as the end of an era

Widely regarded as a bridge between the old aristocratic order of Lagos and the modern centres of influence Otunba Ojora was known for his calm dignity refined elegance and commanding presence. He earned admiration across generations for his quiet nobility and principled lifestyle

Beyond his royal heritage he made a lasting mark in the corporate and social space where he was respected as a thoughtful influential voice in the boardroom. Over the decades he mentored many and contributed to key decisions that shaped institutions and individuals alike

He was married to Erelu Ojuolape Ojora and together they raised a family grounded in service strong values and distinction. He is survived by his children grandchildren and great grandchildren leaving behind a rich legacy of culture leadership and humanity
