The All Progressives Congress APC in Olorunda Local Council Development Area has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its respected chieftains and community leaders Mr Akinsanya Thomas.

Pa Akinsanya who hailed from the Ilogbo Eremi area of Olorunda LCDA died on Sunday January 11 2026. He was laid to rest the following day Monday January 12 2026 in line with family wishes. He is survived by children and great grandchildren.

Until his death Pa Akinsanya Thomas was a towering figure in the political and administrative history of Olorunda LCDA. He served as the pioneer Secretary of the Local Government during the tenure of Hon Olatunji Ogabi who is now the Onimeke of Imeke His Royal Majesty Oba Olatunji Ogabi the Oyikilu Ajagun of Imeke land.

Widely regarded as disciplined loyal and deeply committed to grassroots development Pa Akinsanya played a key role in laying the administrative foundation of Olorunda LCDA at its formative stage. His contributions to governance and party organisation earned him respect across party lines and within the traditional and political institutions of the area.

As a chieftain of the APC in Olorunda LCDA he remained steadfast in his support for the party and was known for mentoring younger politicians and mobilising support at the community level.

Tributes have continued to pour in from political associates community leaders and residents who described him as a bridge builder a dedicated public servant and a father figure whose legacy will endure.

His death marks the end of an era for Olorunda LCDA but his service and impact on the growth of the council and the APC family will not be forgotten.
