The programme tagged Badagry West Women Assembly 1.0 is scheduled to hold on Saturday January 17 2026 and is expected to bring together women leaders policymakers community stakeholders and development partners from across the council area.
According to the organisers the assembly is themed Women at the Grassroots Driving Inclusive Development and Sustainable Community Growth. The theme reflects the council’s growing recognition of women as vital drivers of social economic and political progress at the community level.
The Women Assembly is designed as a strategic engagement platform where women will openly share experiences identify challenges and propose practical solutions that can deepen their participation in decision making processes and local governance. Discussions at the event will also focus on inclusive policies that promote sustainable development empower women owned initiatives and strengthen community based growth.
Officials of the Badagry West LCDA noted that empowering women at the grassroots remains one of the most effective ways to build resilient communities and ensure that development policies reflect the real needs of families and neighbourhoods.
