GDM Lagos Thumbs Up Rikay’s 100 Days in Office, Presents Milestone Card

The Grassroots Development Movement Lagos State, a vibrant socio political group with over five hundred active members across the Badagry Federation, has thrown its full support behind the Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, popularly known as Rikay, as he marked his first one hundred days in office.

The group paid a scheduled solidarity visit to the chairman during the weekend’s anniversary celebration held at Ganyingbo Open Field, where they formally presented him with a 100 Day Milestone Card in recognition of his efforts since assuming leadership of the LCDA.

The delegation was led by the Principal Coordinator of GDM Lagos, Mr Posu Joseph Sewanu, accompanied by other key executives representing the three councils within the Badagry Federation. They included Mr Adebowale Adewale Adeosun, Coordinator for Olorunda LCDA, Mr John Gbeliho, Coordinator for Badagry West LCDA, Mr Posu Davies, Coordinator for Badagry Local Government and Mrs Habeebat Adeosun, who represented the Women Wing.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr Posu Joseph said the gesture was inspired by the group’s passion for good governance and its desire to encourage the chairman as he settles fully into the responsibilities of his office. He urged residents of Badagry West to work with Rikay and support his administration so that more people centred projects can be delivered across the communities.

Hon Rikay, while receiving the 100 Day Milestone Card, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the group for recognising his administration and identifying with the LCDA. He described the honour as a motivation to continue working with sincerity and focus for the progress of Badagry West.

To further show solidarity, two respected political leaders in the area, Hon Bamgbose Joseph Hontonyon, Apex Leader of Badagry West LCDA and Hon Henugbe Gbenu Joseph, immediate past chairman of the council, joined the event. Both leaders commended GDM Lagos for acknowledging Rikay’s early achievements and emphasised the importance of maintaining a strategic relationship with the group, noting its influence, credibility and strong presence in Lagos State.

The Grassroots Development Movement’s endorsement adds to the growing wave of support for the Rikay administration as residents look forward to more developmental projects in the months ahead.
