The race for the 2027 Badagry Constituency II seat is gaining momentum as influential women leaders across Olorunda LCDA have openly declared their support for Hon Olatunde Oladunjoye Yusuf, popularly known as O’Ladun.
According to a statement shared by O'ladun media team and vidoe circulating online, the endorsement came on Wednesday during a solidarity meeting organised by the Olorunda Progressive Mothers at the Low Cost Housing Estate in Ibereko. The atmosphere was warm and energetic as the women sang, prayed, and offered motherly counsel while assuring O’Ladun of their total backing.
In a strong show of unity, the women echoed the popular Yoruba saying that no one abandons their own child to lift another. They described O’Ladun as a true son of Olorunda, a humble leader, and a reliable link between the people and those in positions of authority.
Women leaders drawn from all five wards of Olorunda LCDA were in attendance, signalling a well-structured and far-reaching political mobilisation. Among the prominent figures present were Alhaja Mustapha A, Alhaja M I Adesina, Alhaja Jaiye, Mrs Ronke Ogabi JP, Mrs Ronke Akinyonde, Mrs Jokotola Onikoro, Mrs Bobani (Mama Eleshe), Mrs Oki, and several other respected grassroots influencers.
The women applauded O’Ladun for his openness, his steady engagement with the community, and his consistent support for women empowerment and youth development. They said his credibility and rising political strength make him a natural fit for more effective representation at the state level.
Hon Olatunde Oladunjoye Yusuf, visibly moved by the show of affection, expressed deep gratitude to the mothers. He praised them for their role in building stable homes, shaping community values, and maintaining political harmony. He promised to remain accessible, inclusive, and fully committed to serving the people of Badagry Constituency II.
The meeting ended with a unified commitment from the women to begin wide mobilisation across all wards, zones, and political blocs, signalling a major boost for O’Ladun’s 2027 ambition.
