In just 100 days, the administration of Hon Ajose Peter Kumayon, Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, has continued to demonstrate what responsive and accountable leadership looks like. Staying true to his promise to bring governance closer to the people and ensure equitable development, Hon Kumayon has embarked on a series of impactful projects spread across all wards in the LCDA.
According to a statement from the APK Media obtained by Badagry Today, Tlthese initiatives stem from his early ward-to-ward assessment carried out immediately after assuming office, a deliberate move that allowed him to understand the real needs of residents firsthand. Today, the results of that assessment are visible across the communities through strategic, people-centered projects.
In Iworo and Igbanko Ward, construction is ongoing at the new Imeke Town Hall — a modern and spacious facility that will serve as a hub for civic engagement, community meetings, youth programs, cultural events, and other social activities. The ward is also witnessing the perimeter fencing of Iworo Cemetery to preserve its heritage and prevent encroachment, as well as the installation of a 20KVA solar power system at Ilado Primary Health Centre to guarantee uninterrupted electricity and better healthcare services, especially during emergencies.
At Mowo and Aradagun Ward, the administration is renovating and upgrading the Mowo Police Station to enhance security and provide a more conducive working environment for officers. The ward is also benefiting from the installation of solar streetlights, making the community safer at night and boosting economic and social activities.
In Ilogbo Ward, work is ongoing on the perimeter fencing of the 3-in-1 Cemetery, which serves Christian, Muslim, and Traditional worshippers. The project reflects Olorunda’s religious harmony and aims to protect the sacred grounds from encroachment while maintaining dignity for all the departed.
Araromi Ward is witnessing the renovation of the Yeponawa (Church Gate) Primary Health Centre, an intervention that will improve access to quality healthcare for residents. The upgrade will enhance maternal and child health services, immunization, and general medical care for the community.
These projects, though taking place in different locations, share one common goal — to improve the lives of Olorunda residents and promote inclusive development. They reflect Hon Ajose Peter Kumayon’s commitment to practical governance that responds directly to the needs of the people.
As the administration continues to deliver on its promises, Olorunda LCDA stands as a growing model of purposeful leadership and people-centered development.
