A tragic accident in the early hours of Sunday has left one person dead and two others critically injured after a trailer driver, allegedly dozing off behind the wheel, lost control and rammed into a parked car and pedestrians at the Badagry Roundabout in Lagos State.
The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Eyewitnesses said the heavy-duty vehicle suddenly veered off its lane and crashed into the roadside area where people were sleeping.
The deceased, identified simply as Kejì, according News Peddler, was said to have been asleep on a bench near the roundabout when the trailer ran over her. “A lady named Keji, who was sleeping on the bench, was killed instantly,” an eyewitness reportedly
The crash also left two other victims in critical condition and caused severe damage to a car parked by the median of the Seme–Badagry Expressway and a tricycle nearby.
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
As of the time of filing this report, the damaged trailer and tricycle have been towed to the Badagry Police Station. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
