Badagry West Local Council Development Area has taken another major step toward improving education in the community as the Executive Chairman, Hon Rauf Ibrahim Kayode, popularly known as RIKAY, laid the foundation for a new Computer Based Test Centre on Thursday.

The project, which has been awarded to Selovian International Ltd, is expected to be completed within six months. When finished, it will serve as a modern examination hub for students preparing for national tests, reducing the stress and cost of travelling outside the council area.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Hon RIKAY said the new centre is part of a broader plan to strengthen educational support for young people in Badagry West. He noted that the council had already distributed free GCE forms, organized free tutorial classes, supported various youth programs, and completed the perimeter fencing at Methodist Primary School.

He explained that the CBT centre represents another bold move to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed. According to him, education remains the foundation of progress and a priority for his administration.

Students and community members who attended the event described the development as timely and encouraging. One student expressed gratitude, saying the council’s support had opened opportunities many young people previously lacked.

The ceremony drew community leaders, education advocates, and political supporters, all praising the council’s efforts to create an enabling environment for learning and youth empowerment.

With the foundation now laid, the council says it is confident the new CBT centre will help bridge infrastructure gaps and deliver long-term benefits to students across Badagry West.
