Badagry is gearing up for a landmark gathering that promises to shape its future. The Organizing Committee of the Badagry Community Service Awards (BCSA’25), in collaboration with Badagry Radio, has officially announced Saturday, November 8, 2025, as the date for the Growth Conference, Badagry 1.0, to be held at the Badagry City Hall.
The event, which also marks Badagry Radio’s 6th Anniversary Celebration, is themed “The Spirit of Badagry, the Pride of Africa: Charting a Path from Heritage to Global Influence.” It aims to ignite meaningful conversations among stakeholders on how Badagry can evolve from its historic and rural roots into a modern, globally recognized urban hub, while maintaining its cultural essence and tourism appeal.
According to the organizers, the Growth Conference will serve as a strategic convergence of thought leaders, innovators, policymakers, traditional rulers, youth advocates, and entrepreneurs, all working towards a shared vision, “Vision 2040”, a blueprint designed to drive inclusive growth and sustainable urban development in Badagry.
The one-day event promises a rich lineup of activities including panel discussions, keynote addresses, cultural exhibitions, live music performances, and a culinary showcase of authentic Badagry dishes. A major highlight will be the BCSA Awards Ceremony, which will honor individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions to community development.
The conference will be chaired by His Excellency Samuel Mauyon Ajose (SMA), a Badagry governorship hopeful and founder of the SMA Foundation, alongside the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, who will serve as co-chair. The event will also feature distinguished guests, top government officials, and private sector leaders from within and beyond Lagos State.
Speaking about the purpose of the conference, the organizers described it as “not just a celebration, but a movement of ideas, unity, and progress.” They emphasized that the platform seeks to reaffirm Badagry’s position as a cultural and economic powerhouse poised for modernization while preserving its unique heritage.
“The journey to Vision 2040 has begun,” the statement read. “The Growth Conference, Badagry 1.0, stands as the defining platform to propel this transformation.”
