The Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adopting him as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The decision was announced in Yenagoa after the party’s 12th Expanded Stakeholders Meeting, where leaders highlighted Tinubu’s “transformative projects and policies” as reasons for their support.
Party stakeholders pointed to major initiatives such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the signing of the South-South Development Commission Act, and the appointment of Bayelsa indigenes into key federal positions as evidence of the president’s commitment to the region.
Bayelsa APC Chairman, Chief Dennis Otiotio, said the adoption followed a review of the president’s performance, adding that Tinubu’s leadership had delivered tangible benefits to Bayelsa people. Former Governor Timipre Sylva and NDDC Managing Director, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, also praised the unity of the state chapter ahead of 2027.
APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda—represented by his deputy, Chief Emma Eneukwu—expressed confidence that more governors and lawmakers would join the ruling party before the elections, ensuring Tinubu’s resounding re-election.
